Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role requires someone who is highly organised, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Debtors Management: Monitor accounts receivable, issue invoices, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain debtor records.
• Creditors Management: Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and ensure timely payments.
• Stock Reconciliations: Conduct and maintain accurate stock records, perform reconciliations, and investigate variances.
• Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis for decision-making.
• Banking & Cashflow: Manage daily banking activities, reconciliations, and cashflow forecasting.
• Invoicing: Ensure accurate and timely invoicing to clients and maintain related documentation.
• Statutory Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, NSSA, and other statutory returns in line with deadlines.
• Payroll: Process monthly payroll, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with labour and tax regulations.
• General Accounting: Maintain the general ledger, journals, and support annual audits.

Key Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Solid understanding of Zimbabwean statutory requirements.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
