Mwalimu Commercial Bank PLC - Board Member Vacancy (1 Position)

Introduction

Mwalimu Commercial Bank PLC (MCB) is a public limited liability company established under the Companies Act (CAP 212 R. E. 2002) and licensed to carry Banking business under the provision of the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2006. MCB was licensed to conduct banking business by the Bank of Tanzania on 13th July 2016.

MCB commenced its operations officially in July 2016 with two branches located along Samora Avenue in Dar Es Salaam, and Milimani branch located at Milimani Tower, Sam Nujoma Road, and 11 service centres across the country.

Mwalimu Commercial Bank Plc invites applications from suitable candidates to fill one position of Independent Director to the Board Members of Mwalimu Commercial Bank Plc. The names of all aspiring and qualifying candidates will be forwarded to the Annual General Meeting for voting.

Requirements

• An Experienced Accountant, with a professional qualification of CPA or ACCA, is required.
• Leadership experience, knowledge, and experience in economics, finance, and accounting.
• Directors appointed and elected shall be confirmed by the general meeting, such that their appointment shall not be effective until approved by the Bank of Tanzania.
• Proven track record and good corporate governance practices.
• High moral and ethical character without any criminal records or history of bankruptcy.
• Applicants are required to observe the requirements of this role under the Banking and Financial Institutions Act.
