The Core Banking Systems Specialist will be responsible for the development, configuration, and functional support of the Core Banking System (CBS) in line with the Bank’s Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role also involves ensuring seamless integration with other systems, supporting business analysis and requirements gathering, conducting application testing, developing reports, and training end users to optimize system utilization.
Support the Banking Systems Operations Lead in delivering CBS-related projects and system enhancements.
Provide functional support for the Core Banking System and its integrated interfaces.
Research and recommend innovative solutions and automation opportunities to improve system efficiency.
Manage user access, including creation, modification, and deactivation in line with policies.
Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and best practices.
Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with vendors to resolve incidents within SLA timelines.
Investigate user-reported issues, test solutions, and implement fixes.
Support application deployment, upgrades, and provide second-line support across production, DR, and test environments.
Ensure availability of CBS applications and data at disaster recovery sites.
Support and enforce Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for the Core Banking System.
Facilitate knowledge transfer within the ICT team to ensure continuity of critical processes.
Monitor system performance and respond promptly to security or usability concerns.
Manage incident tickets and service requests within agreed SLAs.
Maintain strong stakeholder and vendor relationships.
Support users and provide guidance on CBS-related issues.
Implement and manage application customizations.
Validate vendor-provided fixes before deployment to production.
Participate in troubleshooting escalated incidents, including on-call/24/7 support when required.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Develop and maintain risk management frameworks and procedures.
Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate system and operational risks.
Ensure adoption of risk management tools and practices.
Address audit findings and risk review exceptions.
Promote a strong risk management culture within the organization.
Strong proficiency in Core Banking Systems, especially Finacle (version 10.x).
Experience in implementation and administration of Core Banking Systems.
Knowledge of backup, recovery, and business continuity processes.
Strong expertise in application support and defect management.
Ability to manage multiple incidents in a deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in: Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, Unix/Linux and shell scripting
Good understanding of: APIs, web services, and system integrations, Finacle interfaces with external systems, Workflow configurations and Unix cron jobs
Experience with Finacle modules (CRM, Core, FI) and Connect 24 integrations.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and system testing.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Core Banking System support and configuration management, preferably in a banking or fintech environment.
