Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified safety-conscious Electrician to be stationed at Ifakara Branch. The Intern will maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and safety standards. Work on a variety of projects from troubleshooting complex electrical faults to upgrading systems for improved efficiency while collaborating closely with other technicians and project teams. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship that keeps our facilities and clients connected, safe, and productive. Responsibilities
- Ensure availability of water in offices, rest houses, and staff houses.
- Ensure the routine service for air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers in the office, laboratories, rest houses, and staff houses.
- Maintain generators by ensuring refueling, keeping records of generator hours used for service and maintenance.
- Prepare reports of any defects and request the materials needed for repairs.
- Proper maintenance of records and documentation.
- Quality and accuracy of electrical installations and repairs.
- Ensure availability of electricity in offices, rest houses, and staff houses.
- Compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Skills

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.

Qualifications Required
Essential Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma in Electrical Installation or a related field.

- At least 1 year of experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
