Organizational Context and Scope

Movement Operations have been a fundamental pillar of IOM's work since its inception in 1951. The organized movement of persons in need of international migration assistance is a primary mandate and a cornerstone of IOM's operations. Movement Operations Units in various IOM Country Offices, coordinated under the Resettlement and Movement Management (RMM) Division at IOM's Geneva Headquarters, are responsible for all aspects of travel for migrants and refugees under IOM's auspices, in accordance with framework agreements with resettlement and receiving Governments and partners across the Organization's programmes.

All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish). For this position, fluency in English and Swahili (oral and written) is required. Proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process through written and/or oral assessments.
