Installation Technician

About the Role

RUBIS TECHNICAL SERVICES LIMITED is seeking a skilled and motivated Installation Technician to join their Technical Department. The primary function of this role is to install, maintain, and repair various types of fencing and security systems according to detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will have proven experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair various types of fencing and security systems according to detailed specifications.
Perform rigorous testing and commissioning of security systems to ensure proper functionality and diagnose/repair faults.
Support the Team Leader in preparing sites, installing, repairing, and maintaining fences, gates, and other products.
Prepares worksites by clearing ground, marking fence lines and setting out materials as instructed by Team Leader.
Installs different types of fencing systems, including electric, barbed wire, gates, and posts.
Uses hand and power tools safely and effectively to cut, align, dig, mix concrete and secure fence structures.
Assists in the loading, offloading and organising of material, tools and equipment.
Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of all tools, machinery, and equipment.
Follow all workplace safety procedures and regulations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Supports Team Leader by reporting progress, challenges or defects noticed during installation.
Ensures completed work meets expected quality and standards.
Provides respectful customer service when interacting with clients or property owners.

Qualifications and Experience

Basic trade certification or proven practical experience in security system and fence installation.
Electrical or Electronic Diploma
Specific security system certifications
A valid driver's license advantageous
Familiarity with hand and power tools
A clean criminal record and the ability to pass a background check

Skills Required

Understanding of fence installation methods and materials.
Proven experience in fence installation, low-voltage wiring, or a related construction/technical field.
Physical fitness for demanding work, including lifting and working outdoors in severe weather conditions.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Reliability, responsibility, and capability of working well both independently and as part of a team.
