Assistant Accountant

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual with outstanding computer applications skills. Duties would include, to:

Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards
Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
Prepare financial management reports
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and report to management
Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advise
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
Develop, implement, modify and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
Analyse on a monthly basis chargeable and non- chargeable time for each staff
Update accounts receivable list and debtors age analysis
Follow up on firm’s outstanding debts
Compute all relevant taxes, prepare and file tax returns to ensure compliance with statutory authorities.
