Assistant Relationship Manager; Liabilities - Chinese Desk (Fixed term – 1 year)

Job Purpose: Responsible for the coordination of deposit mobilization on the Business Banking department by working closely with Branches and the Head Office sales team in monitoring and growing business liability portfolio to achieve the overall deposit targets of the Department.

Main Responsibilities:

• Acquire new Business Customers (preferred Chinese Business Customers) and drive deposits growth across the network
• Ensure that dormancy rate is kept at minimum.
• Proactively provide guidance to branches in managing top business depositors.
• Develop sales strategy for business liability products.
• Provide support to Business Bankers/Relationship Officers teams across branches in building liability portfolio.
• Identify and develop business opportunities from existing customers as well as potential customers.
• Promote Cross selling of bank products and services (e.g. Trade Finance, Forex, Bank Guarantees, NMB Mobile etc.) to ensure utilization and usage of all these products.
• Provide senior management with appropriate reports on business progress.
• Managing departmental Events and sponsorship to ensure full participation and payments to suppliers/vendors must be done timely.
• Follow-up on client requests and maintain service quality
• Communicate with Chinese speaking clients effectively

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong sales skills
• Good customer relationship skills
• Understanding of Bank's products, policies and procedures is essential.
• Knowledge of Flexi cube
• Up to date knowledge of competitor and market activities in Tanzania
• In-depth understanding of the potential business sectors/segment in the market i.e Chinese, Health, Construction, Transportation etc
• Understanding of NMB strategy
• Excellent Speaker of Mandarin (Chinese Language)
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent client management skills
• Well versed with deposit mobilization principles and innovative sales techniques.
• Time management skills
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Banking or related field
• At least two (2) years of work experience with specific expertise in marketing/sales/product development of business liability products and services with proven success results.
• Dealing with Chinese speaking clients or exposure to China market is an added advantage
