JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Drive brand development and equity building, creative and content generation, consumer understanding, consumer engagement, data-driven reporting, and TPC day-to-day social media presence. Act as the custodian of brand consistency and creative quality, translating TPC Marketing strategic direction into effective brand experiences, campaigns, and content that drive awareness, loyalty, and commercial growth.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
1. Brand Development & Equity Building
- Develop and execute brand implementation plans for TPC product portfolio in line with the overall TPC marketing strategy.
- Drive brand equity building through consistent positioning, tone of voice, and visual identity across all touchpoints.
- Monitor brand health indicators (awareness, perception, loyalty, preference) and recommend actions to strengthen brand standing.
- Champion brand governance, ensuring all internal and external materials comply with TPC brand guidelines.
2. Creativity & Content Generation
- Lead the ideation, development, and production of creative concepts, campaigns, and content across print, digital, and in-person channels, tailored to each brand audience.
- Brief, manage, and evaluate creative and production agencies to ensure high-quality, on-brand output delivered on time and on budget.
- Rapidly scale the digital footprint (social media and website) and generate compelling storytelling assets (video, photography, copy, packaging design) that embody TPC brand values of quality, innovation, and sustainability to drive immediate foot traffic and commercial interest.
3. Consumer & Market Understanding
- Support the design and lead the commissioning of consumer, market, and competitor research to gather insights on preferences, behaviours, and unmet needs.
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations for brand positioning, product development, and campaign planning.
- Track category, competitor, and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks relevant to TPC brands.
4. Consumer Engagement / Activation
- Plan and execute consumer engagement campaigns, promotions, sampling, and experiential activations that build brand loyalty and trial.
- Lead the production and application of sales and trade tools such as point-of-sale materials, brochures, and product datasheets.
- Coordinate brand presence at relevant trade shows, community events, and sponsorship activities.
5. Data-Driven Reporting
- Track and report on brand and campaign performance including awareness, engagement, reach, and campaign ROI.
- Maintain performance dashboards and provide regular, structured reporting on brand health and activity outcomes.
- Use analytics and consumer behavioural data to refine targeting, messaging, and geographic investment decisions.
- Provide post-campaign evaluations with clear learnings and recommendations for future initiatives.
6. Social Media & Digital Presence
- Own and manage TPC day-to-day social media presence across relevant platforms, ensuring consistent posting, tone, and engagement.
- Develop a social media content calendar aligned with brand campaigns, product events/launches, and seasonal moments.
- Monitor social media performance, respond to audience engagement, and manage community interactions effectively.
- Stay current on social and digital trends, recommending new formats or platforms to strengthen TPC digital footprint.
- Be vigilant and coordinate with the MEO on sensitive or reputational matters arising on social channels.
7. Budget & Vendor Support
- Support management of the brand marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Assist in the selection and day-to-day management of creative, media, and digital agencies.
- Ensure accurate records of marketing spend against agreed budgets and campaign plans.
8. Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the MEO to ensure brand initiatives align with overall commercial and business objectives.
- Collaborate with Corporate Affairs on CSR storytelling and brand equity communications where relevant.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
X years of experience in brand management, preferably within FMCG, bottling/beverage business or agri/food sectors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Creative direction & copywriting: strong visual eye and storytelling ability; capable of drafting compelling brand narratives and directing multimedia content creators.
- Hands-on experience managing social media platforms and interpreting digital analytics.
- Working knowledge of research methodologies, marketing technology, and performance dashboards.
- Experience coordinating consumer or trade activation programmes is an advantage.
