Business Development Professional
We are looking for a dynamic Business Development professional to drive growth for Safari Marketing in Tanzania. The role focuses on acquiring new safari, tour, lodge, hotel, and travel clients, building partnerships, and increasing brand visibility across domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and onboard new safari operators, lodges, hotels, and travel companies
- Develop strong relationships with tourism stakeholders across Tanzania
- Generate B2B and B2C leads through networking, cold outreach, and partnerships
- Pitch Safari Marketing services (digital marketing, branding, lead generation)
- Close deals and achieve monthly/quarterly revenue targets
Market Research & Strategy
- Research tourism and safari market trends in Tanzania
- Identify new business opportunities and untapped regions
- Suggest pricing, packages, and promotional strategies
Client & Account Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for new clients
- Coordinate with marketing and operations teams for smooth execution
- Ensure client satisfaction and long-term retention
Partnerships & Networking
- Build partnerships with tourism boards, travel agents, and influencers
- Represent the company at tourism expos, travel fairs, and networking events
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in business development or sales (tourism preferred)
- Strong understanding of Tanzania’s safari and tourism ecosystem
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and meet sales targets
- Proficiency in MS Office / CRM tools
- English required; Swahili is a strong advantage
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with safari companies, tour operators, or travel brands
- Knowledge of digital marketing services is a plus
- Existing network within tourism or hospitality sector
