Cashier Job Opportunity at GSM Tanzania Ltd-Retail

GSM Tanzania Ltd-Retail is seeking a dedicated and efficient Cashier to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for providing excellent customer service and ensuring accurate transaction processing.

Key Job Purpose

To provide efficient customer service at the cash till as per service standards and process all cash/credit transactions accurately as per SOP, standards, and guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Drawer Maintenance: Ensure all records of cash in the register are accurate, from opening to closing, and manage the amount of change required for restocking.
• Transaction Processing: Scan or manually enter the price of all items accurately at the register.
• Fund Management: Ensure all funds received are properly handled and disbursed to prevent loss and in compliance with treasury policy.
• Cash Handling and Balancing: Collect cash from sales, fill out the cash-up slip, and confirm that the cash balance is accurate before handing it over to the store manager.
• Exchanges and Returns: No exchanges or returns are permitted without authorization from the store manager.
• Cash Reconciliation: Reconcile cash and obtain necessary approvals before issuing any cash.
• Documentation: Maintain supporting documents for verification of all cash transactions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail business (supermarkets and apparel stores).
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel.
• Preferred age range: 25-35 years.
