We are hiring for a Chief Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and fully qualified accountant to implement a new financial accounting system supported by their international implementation team. This role involves directing accounting operations and preparing financial statements for a large, complex, and internationally respected organization.

Job Responsibilities:

The Chief Accountant plans, organizes, directs, and controls the territorial (national) accounting operations. The key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing accounting policies.
• Coordinating the preparation of audited financial statements that include the national Head Office (HO), churches, institutions, and other social services.
• Evaluating financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions.
• Overseeing training programs and coordinating special projects in the finance area within strict time constraints.

Requirements for the Successful Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce/Finance Business.
• Master’s or equivalent qualification in Finance/Accounting or Management Sciences (Added Advantage).
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in team leadership and supervision, preferably in a financial/accounting setup.
• Good knowledge of IT and accounting tools (MS Office, Excel, TSA Financial Systems).
• Full ACCA or Full Chartered Institute Management Accountant qualification.
• Mastery of accounting standards (IAS/IFRS).
• Willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to team dynamics.
