The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in over 170 countries and territories, helping to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities, and build resilience to sustain development gains. In Tanzania, UNDP supports the government and other partners in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic interventions in governance, inclusive economic growth, environment, energy, and innovation. The Communications Unit plays a critical role in amplifying the visibility of UNDP’s work and results through media engagement, digital outreach, storytelling, publications, and stakeholder communications.
We are looking for a passionate and creative Communications Intern to support daily communication activities, with a focus on content creation, media monitoring, digital storytelling, and visual design.
The purpose of this internship is to provide support to the UNDP Tanzania Communications Unit in implementing its daily communication activities aimed at enhancing the visibility and outreach of UNDP’s work across digital and traditional platforms. The intern will assist in content creation, social media management, media monitoring, and visual storytelling, contributing to strategic communication efforts that amplify UNDP’s impact, results, and partnerships. This internship also offers a learning opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain practical experience in development communications within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary UN environment.
