Overview

Tanzania Health Promotion Support (THPS) is an indigenous NGO established under nongovernmental organization act No 24 of 2002 in 2011. THPS works in partnership with the Ministries of Health Community Development Gender Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) and Regional Administration and Local Governments (PORALG) with a goal of ensuring accessible high quality health care services to Tanzanians; through strengthening of health systems for quality health services including comprehensive HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care, Support and Treatment in Pwani and Kigoma regions.

 

THPS is currently seeking highly experienced, committed and motivated Tanzanians to fill in its vacant position for AFYA KWANZA HIV Care and Treatment Program:  Below is the job descriptions: 

 

POSITION TITLE: Gender Based Violence (GBV) Program Officer  

REPORTS TO: QI/SDM Technical Advisor

LOCATION: Dar Es Salaam Central Office (with frequent field travel)       

 

 

OVERALL JOB FUNCTION:

The GBV Program Officer, under the overall direction of the QI/SDM Technical Advisor will be responsible for technical supervision, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the GBV activities at all THPS supported health facilities in Pwani and Kigoma regions. S/he will work in close collaboration with regional and district teams and other relevant stakeholders including regional and council heal management teams, social welfare department and police gender desk to effect referrals. The incumbent will ensure capacity strengthening in GBV and violence against children (VAC) for health care providers and social workers according to national guidelines and standards to maintain quality service provision among survivors of GBV and VAC. 

This position is part of a multidisciplinary, cohesive team and requires excellent communication and problem solving skills with travel up to 75% to sites.
