GENERAL MANAGER

INDUSTRY: TECHNOLOGY

HR World Ltd, on behalf of our reputable client, we are seeking to recruit a qualified and results-driven General Manager who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day business operations, driving revenue growth, improving profitability, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring effective execution of the company's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will coordinate commercial, technical, project management, finance, human resources, procurement, logistics, and administrative functions to achieve sustainable business growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The role requires a commercially astute leader with strong financial management, business development, project delivery, and people management capabilities, capable of translating management strategy into measurable business results.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate the company's strategic objectives into annual and quarterly operational plans, ensuring effective implementation across all departments and business units.
• Coordinate the activities of Business Development & Sales, Technical/Projects, Finance, Human Resources & Administration, Procurement/Logistics, and other functional units to ensure operational alignment and efficiency.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across corporate, government, institutional, and other relevant customer segments.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing key accounts, strategic customers, technology partners, suppliers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and implementation partners.
• Monitor the sales pipeline, review business opportunities, and ensure timely follow-up of quotations, proposals, tenders, and customer enquiries.
• Identify new products, technology solutions, strategic partnerships, and market opportunities that support business expansion.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and developments within the ICT and technology sector to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
• Oversee tendering and contract management processes, ensuring compliance with submission requirements, deadlines, commercial terms, and customer specifications.
• Review major tenders, pricing structures, technical and financial proposals, and commercial assumptions before submission.
• Evaluate contractual risks and ensure appropriate monitoring of performance guarantees, advance-payment guarantees, project milestones, variations, extensions, and additional works.
• Ensure awarded projects are delivered according to agreed scope, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and profitability targets.
• Conduct regular project performance reviews and ensure each project has an accountable Project Manager or Coordinator.
• Coordinate commercial, technical, procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, personnel, and other project resources.
• Monitor project progress, delivery milestones, operational risks, customer acceptance, and potential delays, initiating corrective action where necessary.
• Ensure project completion certificates, customer acceptance documents, and other contractual deliverables are obtained promptly.
• Ensure invoices are raised immediately upon achievement of contractual billing milestones and that supporting documentation is complete.
• Oversee the company's financial performance and ensure achievement of approved revenue, gross margin, operating profitability, and budgetary targets.
• Review monthly management accounts, departmental budgets, project financial performance, and gross margins across business lines.
• Monitor operating expenses, control unnecessary expenditure, and ensure that financial commitments are commercially justified and within approved budgets.
• Work closely with the Finance team to monitor cash-flow requirements, expenditure, supplier obligations, customer receivables, and overall working capital.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Engineering, ICT, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Finance, or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience, preferably including at least 3-5 years in a senior management position with responsibility for business operations, commercial performance, and team leadership.
• Demonstrated experience managing business operations, cross-functional teams, departmental performance, and organizational resources.
• Strong commercial and financial management capabilities, including budgeting, profit and loss (P&L) management, gross margin analysis, cash-flow monitoring, and working capital management.
• Proven experience in business development, sales management, revenue generation, customer relationship management, and contract negotiation.
• Experience in tender management, competitive procurement processes, contract administration, and commercial risk assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects, monitor delivery performance, contract project costs, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Previous management experience in ICT, telecommunications, technology solutions, systems integration, cybersecurity, enterprise solutions, or related industries is strongly preferred.
