Job Summary:
The General Manager will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of all operations. This role entails ensuring the smooth, efficient, and effective functioning of all core departments—including production, administration, marketing, and sales—while aligning operational activities with company goals and standards. The General Manager will drive productivity, operational excellence, and business growth through hands-on management, cross-departmental coordination, and continuous performance monitoring
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Organizational Alignment
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Managing Director, providing data-driven insights and organizational analysis to support effective executive decision-making.
- Lead and coordinate cross-departmental strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission, long-term goals, and operational priorities.
- Implement and optimize systems and procedures to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, reduce costs, and monitor strategic progress with regular updates and recommendations to management.
- Operational Excellence & Business Oversight
- Oversee the effective planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all business operations, ensuring optimal resource utilization and service delivery.
- Identify and address operational inefficiencies across departments—including production, administration, sales, marketing, and HR—by implementing targeted process improvements.
- Establish and monitor KPIs and compliance standards to drive accountability, ensure consistent quality, customer satisfaction, and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Oversight
- Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) to ensure financial sustainability, driving profitability through effective cost control, revenue optimization, and strategic resource allocation.
- Analyze financial performance by reviewing reports, identifying variances, and implementing corrective strategies to achieve or surpass financial targets.
- Oversee budgeting, inventory control, and cash handling processes, while leading marketing and revenue initiatives that support business growth and market expansion.
- Human Capital Strategy & Organizational Development
- Lead the design and execution of strategic HR initiatives, including workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and employee retention strategies.
- Promote a high-performance culture by fostering accountability, innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth across all levels of the organization.
- Implement employee engagement and development programs, ensuring positive employee relations, adherence to fair labor practices, and compliance with relevant employment laws and internal policies.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Leadership
- Ensure full implementation of safety and security policies, procedures, and standards in all operations.
- Oversee incident reporting, investigation, and resolution processes to ensure employee well-being and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and support initiatives related to occupational health and workplace safety, tracking trends and implementing improvements where needed.
- Executive Reporting & Communication
- Prepare high-level executive reports, strategic presentations, and organizational updates for management.
- Facilitate transparent communication between leadership and operational teams to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment.
- Represent the MD in key internal and external meetings when required, acting as a liaison across strategic initiatives.
- Facility & Resource Management
- Oversee the planning and provision of office equipment, facilities, and supplies to ensure a conducive working environment.
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution and service provider accountability.
- Monitor asset utilization and cost efficiency across facilities and logistics operations.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO or board, in line with the evolving needs of the organization.
Key Requirements;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Production and Operation Management or Related field.
- 5+ years of progressive Management experience preferably in manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of managing teams and driving operational improvements.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems is highly preferred.
