Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) through Global Fund Grants is looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic individuals whom will work under contractual agreement to fill the following vacant positions:

NATIONAL MALARIA CONTROL PROGRAM

Job Title: Global Fund Coordinator -1 Position

Location: Dodoma

Reporting To: Report to Program manager

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Administrative management expertise to improve the overall Malaria GF grant management for implementation of Malaria interventions.
  2. Coordinate all communication between the Global Fund Coordination Unit- MoHCDGEC and Malaria grant implementers in the MoHCDGEC (NMCP, and MSD).
  3. Coordinate the preparation of quarterly progress and financial reports before submission to GFCU.
  4. Arrange and coordinate preparations for ad hoc NMCP meetings as these are initiated by Program Manager or requested by the MoHCDGEC Permanent Secretary, or the external agencies.
  5. Coordinate quarterly coordination meetings with Malaria grant Implementers and provide feedback to Program Manager and GFCU of the Ministry. If need be, represent the Program Manager externally on GF programs related matters
  6. Identify and coordinate the preparation of correspondence and relevant documentation required to communicate effectively with external stakeholders.
  7. Ensure that the Program Manager is well informed about key GF programs issues between the Program and external stakeholders.
  8. Keep oversight of Malaria GF supported programs’ performance in terms of timely and high quality financial and progress reporting to Global Fund Coordinating Unit of the Ministry:
  9. Ensure that financial controls are maintained by the Malaria-GF Accountant according to the Sub-Recipient financial management roles and responsibilities.
  10. Keep oversight on procurement and supplies management of items that are planned to be procured under Malaria-GF grants.

 

Experience and Qualifications: 

  1. Medical degree or a relevant health-related degree, with a Master’s degree in Health-Related Fields.
  2. A Master’s degree in Public Health or Epidemiology will be preferable.
  3. At least 5 years of senior-level experience in designing, implementing, and managing Malaria-related projects.
  4. Extensive field experience including working within the Tanzania Government’s health system.  iv. A proven record of excellent management, leadership, decisionmaking, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Significant experience of working and collaborating with all levels of Tanzanian Government within the health sector.
  6. Experience of working in collaboration with local and international partners.
  7. Demonstrated experience of managing GF or other donor financed projects. Fluent in both English oral and written, as well as good communication skills.
  8. Age limit: 50 years

Terms of Employment: 3 years Contract (Renewable based on Performance and availability of funds)
