Health and Safety Officer

HR World Ltd, on behalf of our client, we are seeking a proactive and safety-driven Health and Safety Officer who will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure a safe working environment across logistics operations, warehouses, and transportation activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with legal and industry standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits across warehouses, fleets, and operational sites.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures to minimize risks and accidents.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
- Deliver health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to employees, drivers, and contractors.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear at all operational sites.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records, incident logs, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, including fire safety, evacuation drills, and first aid arrangements.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, inspectors, and external safety consultants when required.
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
- Advise management on safety performance, risks, and compliance status through regular reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in health and safety within the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
