TAWIDO is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 2011 by women, dedicated to promoting health, gender equality, and human rights for women and vulnerable girls in the community. Registered in 2013, TAWIDO operates in Tanzania Mainland, working to ensure the development, care, and protection of women and vulnerable adolescent girls by raising awareness about their rights and opportunities. TAWIDO manages a helpline/call center utilizing Bulk SMS, Interactive Voice Response, SMS Chat Platform, and toll-free services to provide awareness, counseling, referral, and linkage to services through a wide network of service providers across all regions of Tanzania. The organization has significant experience implementing global HIV programs, offering services to key and vulnerable populations from prevention to ART initiation, and combating stigma and discrimination. TAWIDO is currently implementing the J4S Project in Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Dodoma, and Singida, funded by IPPF to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) among key and vulnerable populations.
