VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Hospital Administrator
REPORTING TO: Managing Director
JOB LOCATION: Ifakara
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Head of Administration and Support Services of the hospital.
- Coordinate development and implementation of the Comprehensive Hospital Operation Plan (CHOP).
- Oversee day-to-day operations: OPD, wards, theatre, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, laundry, mortuary, transport, security, etc.
- Ensure availability of medicines, medical supplies, equipment and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
- Prepare and control hospital budget, expenditure and revenue collection.
- Organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating services as set forth by the Hospital Board under directives of the Managing Director.
- Ensure procurement, auditing, and accountability according to government financial regulations.
- Ensure efficient patient flow - admission, discharge, and referral system.
- Lead customer care, patient rights, and complaints handling.
- Implement Quality Improvement, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and patient safety standards.
- Manage hospital buildings, estates, utilities - water, electricity, oxygen, waste management.
- Manage fleet, fuel, stores, and inventory.
- Ensure health and safety of staff and patients.
- Ensure implementation of health policies, guidelines, and circulars from the Ministry of Health.
- Ensure legal compliance - TMDA, OSHA, medical licenses and insurance.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate verbally and in writing (English and Swahili).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Health System Management.
- Bachelor's Degree in any medical-related field.
- Age: 38 years and above.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in an administrative position.
