Job Summary:
An HR intern supports the human resources department with various administrative and operational tasks, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, and general HR support. They gain practical experience in HR practices while assisting with day-to-day activities like updating databases, scheduling interviews, and managing HR projects.
Key Responsibilities of an HR Intern:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assisting with recruitment processes, including posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Supporting the onboarding of new employees, including orientation and paperwork.
Employee Records Management:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
- Ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.
General HR Support:
- Providing administrative support to the HR team, such as scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and answering inquiries.
- Assisting with HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs and wellness initiatives.
Data Entry and Reporting:
- Entering and updating data in HR systems and databases.
- Generating reports on HR-related data, such as recruitment metrics and employee turnover.
Other Duties:
- May assist with payroll processing, employee benefit administration, and employee development programs.
- May also be involved in research and analysis of HR-related topics.
Qualifications for an HR Intern:
- Typically, HR interns are students or recent graduates pursuing or having completed a degree in Human Resources, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other HR-related software is often required.
- Need to have laptop.
