Human Resources Officer
We are seeking a Human Resources Officer to join our team. This position involves managing various HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, attendance, payroll support, and labor relations, all within a dynamic and professional environment.
Missions
- Conduct comprehensive recruitment processes for positions such as Warehouse Officer, Declaration Officer, and Shipping Line Officer, from job posting to onboarding.
- Review applications received through various platforms including TanzaJobs, LinkedIn, and internal referrals, and shortlist suitable candidates.
- Coordinate interview schedules, facilitate interview sessions, and communicate effectively with applicants throughout the hiring process.
- Develop detailed job descriptions and advertisements, maintain recruitment pipelines, and oversee onboarding plans for new hires, including managing offer letters and employment contracts.
- Manage employee personal records, monitor attendance, and support payroll processing by ensuring accurate documentation and timely submissions.
- Handle employee grievances, coordinate disciplinary procedures, and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, including managing disciplinary meetings, issuing warning letters, and overseeing terminations.
- Represent the company in labor disputes, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings, liaising with relevant labor authorities to ensure proper case handling and compliance.
- Create and manage meeting schedules via Feishu, participate in HR policy discussions, and support the continuous improvement of HR processes and strategies.
The ideal candidate should:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Have 2–3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in Tanzania.
- Have good knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws and employment practices.
- Have practical experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee records, leave and attendance management, payroll coordination, and employee relations.
- Be able to handle disciplinary and grievance matters professionally and confidentially.
- Have strong English and Swahili communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; experience with HR systems is an advantage.
- Be highly organized with strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, maturity and professionalism when handling employee matters.
- Be able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees and management at different levels.
