LOCATION: ZANZIBAR & ARUSHA

HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking two detail-oriented and reliable Junior Accountants to support day-to-day financial administration across its Zanzibar and Arusha operations. The successful candidates will handle routine bookkeeping, supplier and expense processing, reconciliations, and statutory filing support while working closely with the Financial Accountant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process supplier invoices, receipts, payment requests, and daily financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, and physical and digital filing.
• Manage petty cash and support monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with payroll inputs, expense claims, and supplier payments.
• Support month-end activities, including journals, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain the fixed asset register for office and site equipment.
• Assist with VAT, withholding tax, and routine statutory filings.
• Liaise with relevant local authorities as required.
• Support basic procurement, including quotations, purchase requests, and delivery tracking.
• Assist with audit documentation, statutory inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Escalate unusual, high-value, or legally material matters to the Financial Accountant or Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, junior accounting, or finance administration, preferably in Tanzania.
• Knowledge of Tanzanian tax and statutory requirements; Zanzibar experience is an added advantage.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Sage, or similar accounting software is preferred.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently within a remote reporting structure.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
