Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist – PCO Dodoma
The Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist will enhance project visibility and results, converting feedback from beneficiaries into policy briefs. The specialist will report to the Project Coordinator, work closely with the M&E Officer and other technical specialists, and be hired through competitive recruitment from seconded government staff and/or external candidates.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement processes to ensure lessons learned and good practices are captured, shared, and used to improve project implementation.
- Ensure documentation and wide sharing of project results by developing briefing notes, videos, and other knowledge management products.
- Support advocacy efforts by providing evidence of impact gathered through the project learning system and developing policy-relevant briefs.
- Set up and facilitate regular feedback to project implementing partners and beneficiaries.
- Ensure C-SDTP visibility and presence on media platforms, including TV, radio, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other relevant channels.
- Develop or adapt tools and processes for PCO staff to collect, process, analyze, store, and share information and knowledge, ensuring staff capacity to use them.
- Collaborate with KM officers of other IFAD-supported projects in Tanzania for coordinated portfolio-level knowledge management.
- Ensure innovative experiences, learning, and good practices are captured, synthesized, and shared within the project, GoT, IFAD’s Country Program Team, and other partners.
Academic Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Attitudes
Educational Background: University degree in Communications, Journalism, International Development, Economics, or related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in a knowledge management position for international development projects.
- Experience integrating knowledge management with M&E (evidence generation, learning loops, data-driven storytelling) and/or managing KM/communications budgets and procurement is an asset.
- Working experience with IFAD-funded projects is an advantage.
Skills and Attitudes:
- Fluent in Swahili and English.
- Good communication and results-oriented skills.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, media relations, digital/social media management, facilitation, and content creation.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Duration
The contract duration is one (1) year, renewable based on satisfactory performance.
