Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) through Global Fund Grants is looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic individuals whom will work under contractual agreement to fill the following vacant positions:

NATIONAL TUBERCULOSIS AND LEPROSY PROGRAM

Job Title: Laboratory data analyst – 1 Position

Location: CTRL Dar es Salaam

Reporting to: Head of Laboratory – CTRL

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Conduct TB diagnostic data analysis as guided by data manager
  2. Review TB laboratory-related variables to suite Ministry’s and international requirement
  3. Produce summary statistics of key outcome and covariate variables
  4. Advise on the best tools, frequency and methods to use in collecting different TB laboratory data
  5. Produce descriptive report on TB and Leprosy laboratory related data
  6. Supervise collection and verify laboratory data collected from various sources
  7. Security and maintenance of TB diagnostic data bases
  8. Ensure security of computers and accessories as per manufacture specification
  9. Any other duties as assigned by data manager
  10. Age limit: 50 years.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  1. Degree in Biostatistics or related degree from recognized university
  2. At least 5 years of experience in working with TB laboratory or related laboratory data
  3. Knowledge and skills using DHIS2 System
  4. Experience in processing health research/assessment and data analysis
  5. Proficient in using analytical tools such as STATA, SPSS, and Microsoft Excel
  6. vi. Experience working with international or national partners including international or regional organizations and national institutions
  7. vii. Proven ability to manipulate and present data by using standard tabulation and statistical software packages.  viii. Experience in data management
  8. Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  9. Age limit: 50 years.

Terms of Employment: 3 years Contract (Renewable based on Performance and availability of funds).
