Lead Instructor
Responsibilities
- Deliver Foundational Lessons: Teach fundamental ICT skills including typing, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and safe internet usage.
- Teach Block-Based Coding: Introduce kids to programming concepts using Scratch, helping them build games and animations.
- Track & Assess Progress: Continuously evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of learning milestones.
- Develop Curriculum: Actively review, improve, and refine ICT and coding lesson plans to fit the learners' age group.
- Classroom Leadership: Maintain a highly organized, professional, and productive learning environment.
- Team Mentorship: Supervise, support, and mentor Assistant Instructors to ensure teaching consistency.
- Reporting & Communication: Write detailed weekly progress reports and handle formal communication with parents regarding student achievements.
Qualifications
We're looking for educators who can cultivate a culture of disciplined thinking and problem solving. Technical ability is important, but reliability, love for teaching children, teamwork, and commitment are equally important.
Skills:
- Possessing basic computer coding skills (front-end & back-end development).
Education:
- Minimum of an Ordinary Diploma or equivalent (holders of Bachelor's degrees or higher are fully eligible and welcome to apply).
Experience:
- Previous formal working experience is a strong asset.
- Teaching: Experience teaching or working with children is a major added advantage.
- Portfolio: Possession of a portfolio or developed projects that you can demonstrate is an advantage.
Assistant Instructor
Responsibilities
- 1-on-1 Student Support: Provide individual assistance to children struggling with Scratch blocks, ICT tools, or basic HTML/CSS syntax.
- Supervise Practical Sessions: Closely monitor students during hands-on lab time (e.g., typing practice, spreadsheet exercises) to keep them on track.
- Classroom Management: Assist the Lead Instructor with maintaining classroom order, student focus, and positive class energy.
- Technical Setup: Prepare the physical classroom and ensure all computers, MS Office applications, and Scratch software are ready before lessons start.
- Lesson Preparation: Cooperate with the Lead Instructor to review daily teaching materials and ICT exercises.
- Instructional Backup: Stand ready to cover parts of the basic ICT or Scratch lessons when necessary.
- Grading Support: Assist the Lead Instructor in reviewing, evaluating, and assessing student assignments and projects.
- Student Well-being: Ensure children aged 10–14 remain focused, motivated, safe, and emotionally supported throughout the session.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of an Ordinary Diploma or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related Social Sciences (higher degrees are welcome).
- Child Care: Proven experience / strong inclination toward working with, teaching, or mentoring young children.
- Technical Familiarity: Basic computer literacy with a willingness and aptitude to learn basic coding concepts quickly (prior exposure to coding is an added advantage).
- Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, exceptional patience, energetic personality, and strong classroom management support skills.
- Experience: Previous experience volunteering or working in schools, daycare centers, or children's camps is a major plus.
Working Hours & Commitment
- Employment Type: Full-time, on-site role.
- Weekly Schedule: Monday to Friday, with partial Saturday shifts depending on the student class and training schedules.
- Probation Period: Successful candidates will undergo an initial 3-month probation period to evaluate performance, cultural fit, and teaching delivery.
- Contract Duration: Upon successful completion of the probation period, candidates will be offered a 1-year renewable contract.
