Plan International Tanzania has responded to the Burundian Emergency program in Kibondo and Kasulu since October 2015 due to Burundian refugees’ influx with special focus on Case Management, Psychosocial support activities and Education in Emergencies (EiE). Following the Accountability and level of support required thus, the role of Data assistant is to ensure the effective use of designed monitoring tools, quality of data collected and consistency in reporting.

ROLE PURPOSE

Data assistant will ensure that monitoring tools are effectively used by the project staff and quality data are submitted timely including the monitoring of accountability and feedback mechanism for the Child Protection, Education and Youth programs (and other projects as requested).

S/he will be responsible for routine monitoring of interventions in the camps, submitting the cleaned data for reporting, accountability mechanisms, evidence collection, storage and management of all field data including informing Data needs/capacity requirement to influence learning for Plan Programming.

S/he will support MEAL Manager at the field level by providing the evidence and identification of key areas of lessons, success of the interventions and further documentation of evidence for planning, implementation and reporting of project progress.

 

Dimensions of the Role

The Data Assistant will supervise Feedback Data Clerks including Volunteers and Incentive Workers at camp level. S/he will provide onsite support to all Plan Programs in the implementation areas, supporting all camp MEAL initiatives especially training, follow-up activities, feedback activities, and document beneficiary tracking. The role will also support data quality assessment, post distribution monitoring activities, satisfaction surveys, impact assessments and other surveys conducted by the department. S/he will ensure quality weekly and monthly plans and reports are submitted to MEAL Manager timely for review and submission

The position is based in Kibondo and Kasulu reporting to the MEAL Manager, with a dotted line to the CPIE Coordinator CM & PSS for Kasulu.

Work with stakeholders at camp levels to share fitting practices and to identify/implement opportunities for collaboration in MEAL activities (very minimum).
