POST: MECHANIC - LIGHT EQUIPMENT (2 Posts)

Reports to the Light Equipment Supervisor

Core Job Description: Perform maintenance, diagnostics and repair on Automotive Vehicles and Motorcycle.

Key Accountabilities:

• Perform routine, specialized maintenance/repair and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes and lubrications
• Review work orders and discuss work with the section Foreman or Supervisors.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repair and maintain equipment's, tools, and keep working environment in good condition.
• Ability to use and follow workshop manuals/checklists in order to ensure components and systems are examined and safe for operation: such as belts, hoses, steering, brake, fuel, engine, hydraulic systems, wheel bearings and other.
• Diagnose, repair and service according to manufacturer's recommendation.
• Maintaining vehicle fleet in good working condition: by listening to operator complains and take actions.
• Perform any other related work as may be assigned by Supervisor.

• Should demonstrate ability to perform mechanic duties and exercise independent judgement especially on skilled diagnostic service, maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to work independent as well as part of team especially on maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to work overtime and shift jobs whenever required.
• Should demonstrate good positive attitudes and a team player.

Personal Specifications

Holder of Government Trade Test Certificate Grade one, two or Full Technician Course (FTC) grade one, two and three with long experience in Motor Vehicle Mechanics and Heavy Vehicle Mechanics. A combination of relevant academic qualifications, must holds a valid driving licence, at least 2 years' working experience in Mechanics field. Ability to speak English will be an added advantages
