HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking to recruit Mechanical & Electrical Operators (On-site). These roles are responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of power generation equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of generator systems.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine daily inspections of generators and associated equipment.
- Safely start, operate, and shut down generator sets in accordance with operating procedures.
- Monitor generator performance parameters and maintain accurate hourly operational records.
- Control and optimize generator load to ensure efficient performance.
- Monitor alarms, faults, and system malfunctions, and promptly communicate issues to Site Engineers.
- Respond appropriately to generator trips, alarms, and shutdown situations.
- Continuously monitor generator SMU readings and communicate preventive maintenance requirements.
- Perform accurate parameter logging and maintain clear operational communication.
- Monitor diesel/CFO fuel systems and LV/MV electrical systems to ensure reliable operations.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and provide input on parts lifecycle and consumption forecasting.
- Identify basic equipment failures and assist in troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with operational, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
- Maintain accurate operational reports and records.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience operating large Caterpillar generators or working in power generation environments with continuous 24/7 operations.
- Mandatory hands-on knowledge of Caterpillar generator systems.
- Proven experience in generator startup and shutdown procedures.
- Strong understanding of engine parameter monitoring, alarm response, load sharing, and synchronization.
- Good understanding of diesel/CFO fuel systems and LV/MV generator electrical systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance intervals, parts lifecycle management, and basic generator repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain alert during operations.
- Very good command of written and spoken English.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under operational pressure.
