Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Goldfields of North Western Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s South East of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its head office in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and also a supporting office in Dar es Salaam. Position: Mine Engineer III (OP)

Works For: Mine Planning Superintendent.
Qualifications: Degree in Mining Engineering.

Experience: 

4 Years’ experience in Open Pit Mine Planning  

Purpose of the Role:

• To coordinate the work and resources of the short-term planning team in support of the role of the Planning Superintendent.
• To provide technical guidance and assistance to and monitoring the activities of the Mining Operations Unit Main or Key  
  
  

Accountabilities

• Monitor the preparation of weekly plan.
• Provide inputs to the monthly planning process.
• Monitor the compliance to the weekly, monthly and
  quarterly plans and provide feedback timely.
• Provide technical support to the production team on a daily basis.
• Compile the weekly production reports as per the AGA standards.
• Ensure the preparation of daily dig plans and BOPs as per GGM standards.
• Monitor the achievement of design criteria for both pits and waste dumps.
• Work with other stakeholders to ensure smooth weekly planning process and execution of the plan in the field.
• Be pro-active in all aspects of operational safety 
  
  

Additional Requirements:

• Computer literate in Vulcan, Datamine/Studio OP, ISTS and Microsoft products.
• Must have good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Self- motivated with positive work attitude.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision.
• Able to drive and hold a current Tanzania Driver’s License
