NAFGEM Tanzania Employment Opportunity: MNCH and Nutrition Regional ME&L Officers
NAFGEM Tanzania is a national non-governmental organization registered to operate in Tanzania Mainland since 1999. The organization holds a Certificate of Compliance under the NGO Act of 2002, valid until 2033, with registration number 00NGO/R1/00192. NAFGEM’s vision is to foster a society that values and protects the human rights of women, youth, and children. Since its establishment, the organization has been implementing programs that target women, children, and youth in marginalized communities, with the aim of improving their health and well-being, eliminating female genital mutilation, child marriage, and other forms of gender-based violence.
NAFGEM Tanzania, a sub-awardee to Pact, implements the Adolescent and Children HIV Incidence Reduction, Empowerment, and Virus Elimination (ACHIEVE) project, whose primary goal is to attain and sustain HIV epidemic control among pregnant and breastfeeding women, adolescents, infants, and children. The project has recently expanded its scope to include a Maternal, Newborn Child Health, and Nutrition (MNCHN) intervention in three regions of Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Lindi. The intervention will be implemented in all 20 councils across the selected regions, aiming at improving the maternal and child health outcomes. To achieve this objective, NAFGEM Tanzania will work with the government to strengthen the capacity of healthcare workers to provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care, enhance selected Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEmONC) facilities through the procurement of essential medical equipment, and build the capacity of healthcare workers to conduct nutrition assessment, counseling, and management of malnutrition among children under five years of age.
NAFGEM Tanzania is seeking enthusiastic, creative, and energetic individuals to fill the following vacant positions for the ACHIEVE Tanzania Project.
The Maternal Newborn Child Health (MNCH) and Nutrition Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Officers (ME&LO) will coordinate the collection of data, analyze and interpret it to guide implementation and ensure intended outcomes are timely realized in all project sites. The position will ensure the quality of program data and support staff in building their capacity to improve data collection, analysis, and interpretation for timely measures to improve maternal and child health outcomes. They are also expected to produce and submit analytical reports to NAFGEM Tanzania and Pact technical teams as required.
The MNCH-N - MELO will work closely with the regional and council health teams, implementing partners, and health facilities to ensure effective execution of MNCH and nutrition activities, adherence to national guidelines, and timely reporting.
