ABOUT THE ROLE
SimplePay Capital Financial Services Tanzania Ltd is looking for ambitious, disciplined, and target-driven individuals to join our Operations team as Operations Trainees – Business Development Officer (BDO). This is more than an internship; it is an entry-level career opportunity for individuals who want to build a career in microfinance, sales, customer relationship management, and business development. Successful candidates will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and practical field experience in loan sales, customer acquisition, collections, and portfolio management. High-performing trainees may be considered for progression to the position of Business Development Officer (BDO), subject to performance, conduct, business needs, and successful completion of the Company's requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Operations Trainee, you will be exposed to and expected to support the following activities:
Sales & Customer Acquisition
- Identify and approach potential customers within the assigned territory.
- Market and promote the Company's loan products to prospective customers.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential customers.
- Support customer onboarding and loan application processes.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
Collections & Customer Follow-Up
- Follow up with customers regarding loan repayments.
- Communicate professionally with customers on repayment schedules and outstanding balances.
- Support collection activities and customer retention initiatives.
- Conduct field visits and customer follow-ups as required.
Loan Processing & Operations
- Assist in collecting and verifying customer information and documentation.
- Support loan disbursement and collection activities.
- Ensure customer information submitted is accurate and complete.
- Adhere to the Company's policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Reporting & Performance
- Prepare daily activity, sales, and collection reports.
- Maintain accurate customer and operational records.
- Work towards assigned activity and performance targets.
- Participate in training, coaching, and performance reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Secondary School Education (Form Four Certificate).
- Must be able to communicate effectively in Kiswahili; English will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, collections, microfinance, or field work is an added advantage but not mandatory.
- Must be willing to work in the field and engage customers directly.
- Must be willing to relocate to areas with open vacancies.
- Have a smartphone.
- A positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
