Position: Procurement Officer
Reporting to: Procurement Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and procurement processes. The successful candidate will ensure timely acquisition of quality goods and services at competitive prices while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure spare parts, fuel, tyres, machinery components, office supplies and other operational requirements.
- Obtain quotations, evaluate suppliers and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Ensure timely purchasing and delivery of goods and services to support operations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders and supplier databases.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with stores and operations departments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate imports and follow up on deliveries where necessary.
- Assist in cost control and procurement planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement & Supplies, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in transport, logistics, construction or machinery-related industries.
- Knowledge of vehicle spare parts, heavy machinery parts and transport operations will be an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good computer knowledge, especially MS Office and procurement systems.
- High level of integrity, organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
