Program Manager - Achieving Reduction of Child Labor in Support of Education (ARISE III)

REPORTS TO: ARISE Africa Regional Director, Civic Engagement and Social Equity

PROGRAM SUMMARY: 

The Program Manager will be responsible for implementing a high-quality, results-oriented program to prevent and help eliminate child labor through improved awareness of the hazards of child labor, greater livelihoods opportunities for vulnerable households, and improved access to education for children and youth. The position has an anticipated start date of January 1, 2019.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Program Manager is responsible for overall project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of the requirements of the project. He/she will establish and maintain systems for project operations; ensure that all deadlines are met and targets are achieved; maintain working relationships with project stakeholders and oversee the preparation and submission of technical and financial reports to the donor. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Successful candidates will have solid experience managing donor-funded programs in complex rural environments with a wide variety of stakeholders. Specific experience and specialization in at least one of the following is required: child labor prevention/eradication, agricultural training/education, youth development, community mobilization, and/or economic empowerment.

Education: University degree in international development, management, social science, human rights, law, public policy, or other related field of study required. Master’s degree preferred.

Technical: Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience managing child labor prevention/eradication (or closely related programs) required.
