Reporting to the Deputy National Coordinator, the post holder will take on all in-country project management responsibilities immediately and will take on increasing responsibility for overall project management from the UK-based Project Manager as their knowledge and confidence increase.
EQUIP-Tanzania is a Government of Tanzania (GoT) programme responsible for introducing and trialling a number of policy reforms in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) and the President’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG) with the intention that these are then rolled out nationally once they have proved successful. The programme aims to improve the quality of primary education in schools in Tanzania and to increase the number of children, particularly girls, able to transfer to secondary school. The intended results of the programme are models for improving teaching and management developed and tested in over 63 districts; improved teaching of early-grade reading and numeracy in over 5,000 schools; more time on task for 1 million primary school children; and 32,000 more girls able to make the transition to secondary schools
