Sales Engineer

HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking a proactive, technically oriented, and commercially driven Sales Engineer – Pumps to develop new business opportunities, promote and sell pumping solutions, understand customer technical requirements, prepare technical and commercial quotations, and drive sales growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the pumps and industrial equipment market.
• Promote and sell pumps, pumping systems, and related equipment to customers across various industries.
• Recommend suitable pumps and pumping solutions based on customer flow, head, pressure, power, application, and operating requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, procurement teams, project managers, engineers, and other key decision-makers.
• Conduct customer visits, site assessments, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and application discussions.
• Review pump specifications, technical datasheets, pump curves, RFQs, tenders, and project requirements.
• Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations, proposals, tender submissions, and product recommendations.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal technical teams to select appropriate pumps and related equipment for customer applications.
• Follow up on quotations, negotiations, project enquiries, and sales opportunities to achieve order conversion.
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently work towards achieving assigned sales revenue and gross margin targets.
• Monitor market developments, competitor activities, customer requirements, pricing, and emerging opportunities to support business development strategies.
• Provide after-sales support and coordinate with service and technical teams to address customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical sales, pump sales, rotating equipment, industrial equipment, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of centrifugal pumps, pumping systems, pump curves, flow, head, pressure, power, and basic hydraulic principles.
• Experience in pump selection, preparation of technical quotations, commercial proposals, and responses to customer RFQs is an added advantage.
• Experience working with industrial pumps or other rotating equipment is highly desirable.
• Exposure to mining, water and wastewater, industrial manufacturing, construction, agriculture and irrigation, oil and gas, food and beverage, power, or process industries is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in technical sales, business development, customer relationship management, or industrial equipment sales.
