The Delegation of the European Union to the United Republic of Tanzania and the East African Community (EAC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Secretary to join their Infrastructure Section. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the European Union's diplomatic mission in Tanzania.

It plays a crucial role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid, and collaboration with global organizations. EU Delegations abroad function as diplomatic missions, representing the EU in dealings with host governments on matters within the EU's purview.

About the EU Delegation in Tanzania

The EU Delegation to the United Republic of Tanzania and to the East African Community, located in Dar es Salaam, works closely with the Embassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States. As a fully-fledged diplomatic mission, it represents the European Union in its interactions with the Tanzanian government.

The Role: Secretary (Local Agent Job Profile, Group III)

This is a fixed-term employment contract for 2 years, with a 9-month probation period, and the possibility of renewal based on budget availability and operational needs. The Infrastructure Section team consists of 10 people, and occasional atypical working hours may be required.

Under the supervision of the Head of Infrastructure Section, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support.

The Selection Process

Eligible applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee. Depending on the number of applications, the selection process may involve shortlisting based on cover letter and CV assessment, practical testing, and interviews. At least the top 2 candidates will be invited for a final interview.

The successful candidate will undergo a medical check and a background check.
