Diamond Trust Bank is Hiring: Security Documentation Officer

Diamond Trust Bank is seeking a motivated and experienced Security Documentation Officer to join our team. This role is crucial for managing all securities and documentation related to lending activities within the bank.

Job Purpose

The incumbent is responsible for the management of all securities and documentation related to lending. The position holder will be primarily responsible for managing the post-approval of credit processes, with a primary focus on business support and risk control in lending documentations. The position holder will work closely with External Lawyers, different registries, Credit, and all business functions to ensure that acceptable levels of Turnaround Time (TAT) are achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and/or vet all corporate facilities agreements after approval from business.
• Review and/or prepare corporate securities documentation for lending purposes.
• Issue quality and unambiguous instructions to External Lawyers for perfection of securities.
• Demonstrate sound command in the management of law firms/external lawyers involved in the perfection of securities.
• Maintain securities data through a defined process or system.
• Generate reliable Management Information Systems (MIS) and develop various reports for sharing with business teams and Credit.
• Provide legal opinions and advice to Credit Departments within the Bank.
• Regularly review all securities and documentation to confirm validity and enforceability.
• Prepare Offer Letters and any other credit-related facility letters.
• Follow up with business teams on any expired securities, such as renewals of tenure and land rents.
• Oversee the disbursement of facilities.

Requirements

Education

• A Bachelor's degree in LLB is required.
• A Practicing License is required.
• A Master's degree in LLM/MBA is an added advantage.

Work Experience

• At least 3 years of experience.
• Two years should be in post-admission experience.
• One year should be in Credit – Legal documentation.
