PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Supply Chain related expenses are the second largest expense category in World Vision following people expenses. For every $1 we spend on programmes that include food-aid and gifts-in-kind, approximately $0.75 is potentially touched by Supply Chain Management. World Vision’s supply chain staff are accountable for full transactional compliance from the forecasted field requirement to accounts payable, and working with senior leadership to ensure compliance with WVI standards and mitigation of Supply Chain risks. Some humanitarian industry thought leaders state that Supply Chain Management is the business. Supply Chain is integral to the functioning of World Vision’s ministry and is being developed as a core support function as integral as People & Culture, Finance, IT and Marketing.

This position is tasked to encompass all Field Offices in the World Vision (WV) Partnership with the appropriate level of engagement to leverage functional, geographic, and category spending and optimize vendor terms and performance, working capital management as it relates to spend, and logistics for all categories of spend as well as specific commodity logistics for Food aid and gifts-in-kind (GIK) aid to beneficiaries. In addition, the incumbent is tasked with ensuring logistical support for all entities in the WV Partnership including disaster relief efforts as deemed appropriate, as well as appropriate risk monitoring and mitigation activities to help ensure the integrity of global supply chain and spending practices and compliance with applicable local laws and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the evolution and implementation of the strategic road map for the Supply Chain Management Function across the partnership in alignment with Shared Services, Global Field Operations, Global Finance and Global Technical Sectors and Grant Acquisition Management.

 

Lead and directly manage the Regional Supply Chain Management Directors (matrix managed by Regional SDOs) in the development and delivery of Global and Regional Supply Chain strategies that align and support overall global Field Operations strategies.

 

Establish and implement supply chain strategies, systems and processes (global, regional and local) for entities in the World Vision partnership, including Field Offices and Disaster Management via engagement with senior leadership and development of a shared agenda for generating cost savings, continuous process integration, improvement, and risk mitigation.

 

Build external capacity to share best practices and joint solutions in the NGO/commercial space via partnerships, joint ventures and formal agreements to ensure advantageous sourcing, and delivery of all materials and services to support the WV programs.

 

Develop and manage customer service mechanisms with each set of constituents(e.g. Regional Leaders, SDO’s, RFDs, NDs, GFO, Global Finance, Global Technical Sector Leads and Grants Acquisition Management) to ensure productive ongoing engagement and implementation of Supply Chain strategies through:
