Within Umoja ecosystem, commercial banks, microfinance banks, SACCOS, MNOs, aggregators, government institutions, billers, utility companies etc. are integrated to create a total interoperability. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations, we are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and ethical individual to join our team as a Senior Finance Officer.

Position Title: Senior Finance Officer

Department: Finance

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date financial records, ensuring timely posting of transactions and vouchers.
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts regularly, ensuring adherence to internal financial controls.
• Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, including timely processing of invoices and follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Support the preparation, forecasting, and monitoring of organizational budgets.
• Ensure full compliance with tax regulations and statutory obligations, including preparation and submission of TRA returns and other statutory deductions.
• Liaise with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions as needed.
• Process payroll and reconcile payroll-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Prepare end-of-month schedules, including accruals and prepayments, to support the monthly closing process.
• Manage company liquidity.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
• Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience in a finance or accounting role.
• CPA/ACCA qualification or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
