Workshop Manager

INDUSTRY: TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS

LOCATION: DAR ES SALAAM (KIGAMBONI, KISARAWE AND LINGATO)

HR World Ltd on behalf of our client, we are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Workshop Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and managing fleet maintenance operations. The Workshop Manager will ensure efficient workshop performance, optimal fleet availability, and proper supervision of all maintenance activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee day-to-day workshop operations and ensure efficiency in all maintenance activities.
• Manage repairs and servicing of fleet including tippers, trucks, lowbed trailers, and heavy equipment such as excavators, motor graders, and bulldozers.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Supervise mechanics, technicians, and workshop staff.
• Ensure availability and proper management of spare parts and tools.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and technical issues, especially for Chinese truck brands (e.g., HOWO, SHACMAN).
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Control workshop costs and improve operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role in transport, logistics, or construction environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with tipper trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery.
• Specialized knowledge of Chinese trucks (HOWO, SHACMAN, etc.) is a MUST.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
