ABOUT COPE

Cooperazione Paesi Emergenti (COPE) is a Not-for-Profit Non-Governmental Organization of Italian origin, founded in 1983. COPE works to minimize the gap between poor and more affluent communities through the designing and implementation of community-based development programmes that respond to local needs and promote sustainable solutions. Currently the organization implement programs in Italy, Tanzania, Madagascar, Peru, South Sudan, and Guinea Bissau.

 

COPE in Tanzania

COPE has a long history of implementing community-based initiatives in Tanzania. The organization's first project in Tanzania was the Migori Health Centre in Mtera, Iringa Region. Following its successful implementation, the project was subsequently handed over to the Roman Catholic Church, Diocese of Iringa, for continued service to the community. Today, COPE continues its commitment to Tanzania through initiatives in health, education, sustainable agriculture, child care and women's economic empowerment.
