Role Contribution & Justification
The Relationship Manager plays a pivotal role in managing and growing a portfolio of corporate customers. This position serves as the primary point of contact and financial advisor for these clients, while also actively prospecting and acquiring new corporate customers to enhance the Bank's revenue and market share within the assigned portfolio, aligning with the Bank's strategic objectives. The role is crucial in initiating and maintaining strong client relationships, contributing to business development, and ensuring effective business growth across deposit, loan, and advance segments, alongside diligent portfolio management. Key objectives include driving deposit mobilization, revenue generation, loan book expansion, effective risk management, and ensuring overall client satisfaction, with an element of supervising other Relationship Managers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation of the corporate strategy, focusing on client origination, coverage, and achieving sales/business targets (number of clients acquired and maintained, revenue generated).
Assess customer financial needs and identify cross-selling opportunities, developing strategies to increase market share and ensure profitable business from each customer ecosystem.
Explore market opportunities and devise strategies for benefit realization; generate, track, and close sales leads and pipelines to ensure maturity.
Manage corporate banking relationships with existing and potential clients to foster business growth, ensuring compliance with loan covenants, terms, and conditions, while safeguarding the Bank’s asset quality and position.
Prepare credit proposals with a focus on quality, accuracy, data integrity, and adherence to the Bank's policies and guidelines; submit and recommend business proposals through the approval process chain.
Stay updated on all regulatory guidelines (including Bank of Tanzania’s Prudential Regulations) and internal Bank requirements (including credit policies), ensuring strict compliance.
Act as the Bank's key contact person for corporate customers.
Nurture and support Relationship Managers, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and support for effective corporate strategy execution.
Perform any other assignments as directed by supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualification, and Experience

Knowledge and Work Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in banking, preferably in Corporate Banking.
Strong understanding of credit analysis and Corporate lending.
Proven sales and relationship management skills.


Skills Requirements:

Strong proficiency in cross-selling and upselling techniques.
Ability to analyze financial statements and cash flows.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
