NBC: Relationship Officer SME - Kibaha BranchNBC, Tanzania's oldest serving bank with over five decades of experience, is seeking a dedicated Relationship Officer SME to join our team at the Kibaha Branch.About the RoleThis role focuses on acquiring and managing relationships with Small and Medium Business (SME) customers through a proactive and consultative approach, ensuring alignment with NBC policies and procedures. You will provide holistic financial solutions by understanding customers' business processes and delivering a differentiated customer experience that supports NBC's value proposition.Key ResponsibilitiesSales and Relationship Management (40%)Maximize client profitability within agreed targets (Assets, Liabilities, interest and non-interest revenue) by identifying, building, and deepening relationships to gain incremental wallet share of SME clients.Offer solutions through a wide range of products and services.Provide value-added engagement and consistent communication with clients through regular face-to-face meetings with clearly defined objectives.Intuitively recognize and understand clients’ business cycles, financial goals/needs, and proactively provide holistic financial solutions with the support of product specialists.Create and maintain a pipeline of business opportunities and proactively master referrals to grow asset and liabilities portfolio.Develop and maintain a Customer Relationship Management Plan for Top 10 borrowing clients and Top 10 non-borrowing clients.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions (e.g., Call Reports).Customer Service (20%)Proactively and professionally manage client experience by providing appropriate answers regarding products and services.Promptly respond to customer complaints and provide regular feedback on unresolved issues.Keep accurate records of discussions or correspondences with clients.Effectively co-ordinate client relationships/activities with other departments within the bank.Educate customers on the bank's products, services, and procedures.Use client feedback to improve product and service offerings.Compliance and Risk Management (20%)Build awareness and comply with KYC, AML, and Financial Sanctions and Prohibitions of Business Activity policies.Review the portfolio monthly to ensure all documentation (KYC, AML, and Sanctions) is up-to-date, and escalate any unresolved KYC requirements.Check and sign off on loan applications and legal documents, taking accountability for their accuracy and quality.Identify potential problem accounts and communicate appropriate risk-mitigating strategies by accessing excess reports daily and monitoring client transactions regularly.Research, read, and network to stay abreast of developments in various industries/sectors to ensure adequate industry knowledge and identify potential risks or opportunities.Drive the credit review process (new and renewal) by submitting all required documents to the credit department, including a comprehensive call report and renewal documents 90 days before facility expiry.Manage down accounts without limits by submitting outstanding financials on time, following up on outstanding securities, and updating credit files regularly.Provide prompt responses to reports related to loan arrears and excesses by calling clients and communicating resolutions within 24 hours.Team and Networking (10%)Attend daily Branch meetings and knowledge-sharing meetings.Maintain constant dialogue and share information with other departments (Retail and Corporate Credit, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking).Attend local functions, community, governmental, and business development activities.Develop and maintain contact with Product Specialists in other areas of the bank, including Corporate Banking, Treasury, and Retail Banking.Provide feedback into the performance review of other members of the cross-functional team.Self-Development (10%)Comply with and stay abreast of all policy, procedure, and circular updates.Ensure self-development pertaining to career path to develop knowledge and skills.Complete all critical compliance training.Other DutiesPerform all other duties as reasonably assigned.Education and Experience RequiredBachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma – Business/Accounting3 years of banking experienceKnowledge, Skills and Competencies RequiredStrong financial and business skillsPC skills and Microsoft Office proficiencyProven ability to develop and implement sales plansClear understanding of credit processes and proceduresGood problem-solving and decision-making skillsGood oral and written communication skillsGood time management and organizational skillsAbility to work in a team and support othersStrong integrity and professionalismGood knowledge of Bank ProductsRisk Management (Credit risk, Operation risk, Market risk)QualificationsBachelor Degrees and Advanced Diplomas -
