Position Summary: Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and analyse daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax laws, and company policies.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
Oversee bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and budgeting.
Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, regulators, and tax authorities.
Provide financial advice to management for strategic planning and investment decisions.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Implement and effective internal controls.
Perform any other accounting-related duties as may be assigned by management, consistent with the role.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Must have a CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent certification.
Over 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
Proficiency in QuickBooks, accounting software (others like SAP, Tally are added advantages) and MS Excel.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Tanzanian tax regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
