Consultancy Service: Capacity Building on Project Management and Financial Management

The Forum for African Women Educationalists Tanzania (FAWETZ) is inviting qualified organizations and individuals to provide capacity building services in project management, financial management, and budgeting.

Background

FAWE, a Pan-African Non-Governmental Organization network, advocates for transforming education systems to promote gender equity and equality. FAWETZ is one of 34 chapters in Africa, implementing FAWE’s mandate at the national level.

Project Scope: Capacity Building Areas

  1. Project Management:

    • Resource Mobilization

    • Report Writing

  2. Financial Management and Budgeting:

    • Budgeting and Planning

    • Financial Reporting and Compliance in NGOs

Purpose of the Facilitators

To build FAWETZ staff capacity on project management, financial management, and budgeting ensuring effective resource utilization.

Project Management Objectives

  • Strengthen project management competencies

  • Enhance understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools

  • Develop practical skills in impact report writing and resource mobilization

Scope of Work for Project Management

  • Equip staff with the ability to write standard reports

  • Train in data collection, analysis, writing skills, language use, and report formatting

  • Cover monitoring and evaluation reporting

Resource Mobilization Areas

  • Foundation and Strategy

  • Strategic Resource Mobilization Planning

  • Donor Mapping and Engagement

  • Building Donor Relationships

  • Proposal Development and Grant Writing

  • Fundraising Strategies and Techniques

  • Marketing for Fundraising

  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Accountability

Deliverables

  • Tailored training curriculum based on identified needs

  • Two-day interactive workshop sessions

  • Facilitate group exercises, case studies, and practical stimulation

  • Comprehensive training report with participants' feedback and recommendations for further development

Financial Management Objectives

  • Equip staff to plan, prepare, and monitor realistic budgets

  • Build understanding of key financial compliance standards and internal controls

  • Improve preparation and analysis of financial reports for management and donors

Scope of Work (Key Areas)

  • Budgeting & Planning: Principles of NGO budgeting, budget structures, forecasting, donor requirements, cost allocation

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Components and formats of financial reports, donor reporting requirements, internal controls, audit readiness

Deliverables for Financial Management

  • Training agenda and materials

  • Two-day workshop delivery

  • Post-training report

Duration

The assignment will last within two days.

Profile and Qualifications

  • Project Management: Minimum Master’s degree in project planning, at least five years of experience in project management, proven training delivery record, strong facilitation skills, familiarity with adult learning methodologies.

  • Financial Management: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/economics or related field, minimum five years of NGO work, understanding of NGO missions, proven financial management system expertise, CPA or ACCA preferred.
