Mining Technical Communicator

HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking to recruit a skilled Mining Technical Communicator. This role is crucial for providing technical support, managing product issue communication, and ensuring seamless coordination between service operations, mining sites, and equipment manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive technical support to service operations, mining contracts, and customers.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal support teams and equipment manufacturers regarding mining product issues.
- Conduct regular travel to mining sites to offer on-site support and ensure effective communication of technical challenges.
- Produce and distribute monthly product problem reports to senior management.
- Act as the main point of contact for all unresolved technical queries, providing timely solutions using technical systems and documentation.
- Prepare detailed failure analysis reports and other essential technical documentation.
- Escalate unresolved issues through appropriate technical reporting systems and ensure diligent follow-up.
- Submit incident reports and maintain accurate tracking of all technical issues.
- Support warranty and goodwill negotiations concerning product problems.
- Monitor system submissions and follow up proactively with relevant teams.
- Provide necessary system access support and technical tools as required.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within mining service operations.
- Support the rollout of improvement projects and document their performance outcomes.
- Coordinate rework programs, including tooling, materials, and execution with site teams.
- Deliver technical training to staff on reporting systems and best practices.
- Support training departments by providing technical expertise and product knowledge.
- Participate in new product and system implementations across service departments and sites.
- Mentor and train new technical staff on systems, processes, and communication practices.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and customer site safety policies at all times.
Qualifications:
- A Technical Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Automotive, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining service, technical support, or a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with mining equipment, troubleshooting, and component rebuilds.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of technical systems and service platforms.
- A strong understanding of vehicle electrics, hydraulics, and transmission systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Experience in technical communication and team supervision is considered an added advantage.
