Overview
Our client is a part of an African bank, which operates through a network of commercial banks in 18 countries. Currently, the bank in Tanzania has a network of 27 branches.
Based in Morogoro, this role is responsible for ensuring overall Branch Management; staff management, business growth and development, operational excellence. Also to develop and implement business strategies to deliver performance and growth targets while maintaining a good business environment.
Responsibilities
Advise walk-in clients on the various accounts and facilities
Be involved in corporate social responsibility to improve visibility for the bank
Build and improve the quality of business and retail clients
Check and forward daily and weekly reports to Head office departments
Ensure Branch coordination; weekly and monthly meetings with retail officers, Branch meetings and training of branch staff
Ensure branch staffs comply with statutory regulations and bank internal procedures
Ensure the development of branch profitability
Ensure service delivery standards are maintained in the branch
Establish and develop sales opportunities to archive targets and meet customers’ expectations
Implement business plans prepared in collaboration with the sales coordination structure to ensure achievement of objectives
Implement, monitor and analyze the achievements of the branch objectives.
Make regular customer visits to retain existing customers and to build loyalty
Manage and monitor team workflow at the branch in line with set targets
Manage term deposits
Monitor and analyze with Sales Coordination Unit, the quantitative and qualitative achievements of the branch
Monitor commercial risk and debt collection
Monitor overstepping reports and advising accordingly
Organize the branch objectives in liaison with the retail officers in regard to annual objectives and sales campaigns
Prepare and analyze credit applications for presentation to the credit department.
Prepare the branch budget and strategy and ensure profitability
Promote new business by selling banks products to new clients
Provide customer balances
Review all branch reports and oversee daily operations of all areas of the branch
Any duty as may be assigned by a supervisor and or Head of Retail
Technical Skills

An Advanced Diploma/Degree in either Commerce, Finance or Marketing
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Banking Operations
A good understanding of Banking Operations and Products
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Products
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Conflict resolution skills
Negotiation and influencing skills
Team player and strong leadership and management skills.
