About the Role
The Digital Transformation Manager will play a crucial role in supporting BRAC Tanzania Finance Limited (BTFL) by driving innovation through the implementation and optimization of digital delivery channels. This position is responsible for developing and delivering exceptional digital products and customer experiences, enhancing organizational efficiency, and ensuring a balanced approach between technology and human interaction for BTFL customers. The manager will also employ creative and strategic thinking to identify innovative technological solutions that overcome barriers related to access, usage, digital literacy, security, and overall customer inclusion.
Key Job Responsibilities
Review, manage, and analyze existing business strategies for Digital Financial Services (DFS), technology, and digital field applications. Implement strategies to provide guidance to management and ensure alignment with the overall business strategy.
Develop new and innovative products that meet the needs of our target clients, utilizing available technology and alternative delivery channels.
Lead the development and implementation of the digital strategy, collaborating with teams to adapt their processes and products accordingly.
Actively monitor digital technologies in the market that can improve the quality and efficiency of our field operations, product, and service delivery.
Develop and manage relationships with third parties, including digital solutions suppliers, fintechs, and developers.
Develop detailed functional requirements for digital tools and applications.
Define implementation plans, including change management aspects, to maximize project impact.
Collaborate with other enabling stakeholders to maximize project impact.
Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve program goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote, and endorse safeguarding policy issues among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in all actions. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure for any reportable incident and encourage others to do so.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology, Management Information System, Project Planning and Management, or Sales/Marketing. Professional certification is an added advantage.
At least three years of related experience in financial inclusion, product development, digital finance, technology for development, or payments platforms.
Project management experience.
Experience working with Mobile Network Operators, Fintechs, financial institutions, or regulators is an added advantage.
Familiarity and experience with financial institutions preferred.
Substantial exposure to DFS strategy management, with direct involvement in top management strategy formulation and decision-making.
Demonstrated experience as a central figure in various strategic decision-making processes, comfortable assessing a business and making appropriate choices.
Key Competencies
Excellent verbal presentation and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex technological implementation language for non-technical audiences.
Effective analytical skills, with the ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives, including performance, competitor, and market analyses.
In-depth understanding of the key drivers in a digital product/emerging technology business.
Insight into the impact of digital transformation on industries and knowledge of best practices.
Experience in digital project management, including technological aspects, enabling the development of skills in understanding business needs and transcribing them into functional specifications for digital tools.
