Watumishi Housing Investments (WHI) is seeking qualified and dynamic Public Servants interested in joining our organization through transfer for the following vacant position.
Introduction
Established in 2013, Watumishi Housing Investments (WHI) implements the Public Servants Housing Scheme (PSHS). WHI is a property developer and a licensed fund manager for the Watumishi Housing REIT (WH-REIT).
Engineer I (Environmental)
Number of Posts: 1
Duty Station: WHI Head Office, Dar es Salaam
Duties and Responsibilities
To collect data for carrying out Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.
To follow up on construction sites to ensure occupational and health safety regulations are adhered to.
To undertake and design solid waste management systems.
To identify and quantify the extent of pollution such as water pollution, underground water pollution, etc.
To prepare conceptual design proposals and briefs of various projects.
To develop design proposals into workable drawings as instructed by the Supervisor.
To prepare complete detailed construction Environmental (plumbing) Engineering installation drawings for all building projects.
To understand and apply current legislation (policies, Acts, regulations, codes, manuals, etc.) regarding Environmental Engineering installation in building project design work.
To prepare preliminary bills of quantities and cost estimates for all Environmental Engineering installation projects for checking.
To prepare draft project work programs/schedules and budgets.
To carry out physical site data collection in technical audits tasks / assignments related to building projects.
To participate with guidance in carrying out conditional surveys for existing structures and prepares reports.
To search and collect building projects design data and submit to the supervisor before they are used in the design work.
To collect data for carrying out feasibility studies.
To undertake or/and coordinate environmental and social impact assessments.
To perform any other duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of a Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, Building Survey, Construction Management, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
The candidate must be registered by AQRB or a graduate Quantity Surveyor.
